Question:
Is there a new type of gas air conditioner for residential use out on the
market now?
The old ones used heat-driven absorption machines. Is there a new type
that uses the convential compressor cycle but drives it with a natural
gas burning engine? I've dreamed of such a thing for many years. If
it's finally in commercial production it would be great.
Answer:
Yes. York International is currently producing 3 and 3-1/2 ton
Triathalon systems. Natural gas engine driven heat pump
In Calif it was only in a 3 ton split last year .
