Window Air Conditioner installation?

Question:
Window Air Conditioner installation?
I have recently bought a window AC whose length and height are smaller then the window. So please suggest how should it be fitted. Should i fit it with base resting on the window and wood blooks on the top or wood blocks at the bottom. Also there are about 10 seperate glass windows along its side so should I place AC towards the windows or away from them to minimise the vibrations. Also some techniques for minimising the noise.

Answer:
Those things are normaly heavy and a little noisy.
The base has to be mounted on the window and the top blocked with wood for support.

In general, if you had no vibration issues, you are better off installing the AC in as central a place as possible to improve its ability to cool the whole room. However, right now, You are better off placing it away from the windows.

Finally, you can use part of the styrofoam packed with as as a support for the base. This will reduce vibration and noise.
