What's a fair price for a new 4-ton Trane air conditioner installed?

I've been looking on-line at heat pumps and A/C units, as we'll be getting a whole new system next month. They don't give any prices due to the national access to the sites, so I'm going to get a few bids for an appropriate unit and installation. You can google for Trane's website and they have 'by zip code' lists of authorized dealers. They also have a page on what to look for in your service company/person. Get three different dealers to give you estimates and choose the median price. You can also ask for references from their previous customers. That's how I'm going to do it, because we have no clue :]) Labor and equipment prices are probably higher in NV than in OK.
