Looking for a portable 240V air cooler which can be moved
from room to room. Prefer the non-evaporative type. Living
in a rental house an fans just don't seem to be the
solution... In Perth area only.

Probably good for a small room with good
ventilation (ie, somewhere for the hot air to go), but my place is a
little too open for it to be very effective. Which is why I'm selling
it.
actually you can get very effective ones that are around the size of a
full-tower case and are good for cooling a medium sized room down almost
instantly. my friend has a remote controlled one...i'll ask him waht
its called. there are portable tyes that are about the size(or bigger)
of a large vacume cleaner.
these have a large pipe/hose that you extend so it goes outside. through a
window or door or whatever.
only "semi" portable air cons are those ones you put into windows or
walls... meaning you have to transport them from window to window
carefuly!.... you cannot get a unit that just sits on a bench and cools the
air... well cools the air but also makes over air hotter = no cooling
overall at all best bet is a small window mounted unit. small room
looking at about a 400Watt unit. ring some auction places. they sometimes
have old small units like this... new they are about $300-$500
