Air Conditioning Tax Write off?

Question:
Wanted: Portable Air Conditioner, 7000 Btu's++. Must be portable-- internally hosted-- I have bars on my windows & can't have anything hanging out.
If you have a portable, I'd like to hear from you. Please indicate # of seasons used, name/brand, Model, etc. and how much your willing to sell it for.

The air conditioner has to hang out the window to blow the hot air away.
That is how they work at least in my experiences it is. I got a 12,000 btu if interested. It is portable but it is half in and half out the window. Why do you have bars on the window?

Answer:
In Canada I got to write off the full cost of my first portable air conditioner only because of a federal court ruling that was just made -- that particular ruling was specific to multiple sclerosis and since the government lost their case in federal court, they changed the rules
(law/regulations)

Two years ago I purchased a new window airconditioner and the rules in
Canada than allowed up to 50 percent of the cost of an air conditioner up to a maximum of $1000 when it was prescribed by a doctor or other health professional. I believe that is still in effect. The cost of running an air conditioner was not tax-deductible. I figure that the current electricity costs of running a room size air conditioner to cool about 300 square feet continuously for a month is less than $10 a month during the hottest summer month where I live.
