Question:
I've set my machine directly under the air conditioning vent which
helps, and I also try to remember to clean all the dust bunnies out once
a week, at least! I've been running AMD's since my 386dx40 days and have
yet had one fry on me(now watch I'll fry this 1 gig for sure now!) At
our old house when the Temp would hit about 105 f outside the house
would be at about 85-88 f, inside. Not very well insulated, the new house is, tho.
I'm starting to think everyone in the US has air conditioning
Answer:
It's because of this amendment that we live in a nation of
air-conditioner nuts. This country has been flooded with millions of
air conditioners, made by evil companies such as Trane, Lennox,
Carrier, and American Standard. Why are companies making 50,000 BTU
central units for industrial use have to resorting to making smaller
air conditioners for the home?
Did you know that children can easily go to their local hardware store
and purchase a cheap, 5,000 btu air conditioner (also known as an
August afternoon special) for as little as $100? These days, AC is
even considered standard equipment in news cars, and American air
conditrioners are starting to slowly turn up in all corners of the
world. Soon, every third-worlder will be basking in a cool, refreshing
breeze emanating from an American-made air conditioner.
No background checks, no age checks; this industry is virtually
unregulated, and anyone can get their hands on one of these things,
which I find shockingly appalling. Even if we banned and destroyed
every air conditioner in the Unites States, there are millons of
refrigerators out there where anyone with enough intelligence could
jury rig their own portable air conditioner. I will not rest until
every American sleeps in warm, humid, sticky discomfort every summer
night.
For those of who think I am being anti-second amendment, I'm not... I
fully support the 2nd amendment. I just picked it because it worked
best for air conditioning and seemed funny.
