Venting portable AC unit question

Question:
I've got a Haier portable Air conditioner going in my basement. I'm considering venting (it's got a 5 foot by 4" exhaust pipe) it out through the nearest wall, but this would put the vent outside under our back porch. The under porch area is not enclosed, but I wondered if there would be an issue with the vent blowing out under there? The porch is 5 feet deep and about 15 feet long and about 4 feet off the ground. It's only covered on one side by a large opening latice.

Answer:
The only concern I see is keeping nesting birds and other critters out of it. So you may want to use a dryer vent or whatever is used for exhaust fans for the wall connection. I had a birds nest in my dryer vent, but that was because it got packed up with lint during winter, which stuck the flapper open.

The A/C may be blowing warm moist air, but the hotter the air, the more humidity it can hold (condensate from the evaporator is used to cool the condensor). I have an 8000 btu Maytag blowing out of a screened window and it is not steaming up the window or dripping or anything.
