Air Conditioner

Question:
My central air conditioner is working great ... for the basement. It is freezing down there and warm on the main floor and upper floor. (68 degrees in the basement and 74 on the upper floors).

I have the air conditioner set to cool to 72 degrees. (approximate, I am in Canada and converting to Fahrenheit in my head)

Any ideas if this is a problem or normal? If it's not normal, any ideas on what I could do or what might be causing this?

Answer:
How long have you given it? It can take 2-3 days for an AC to pull all the moisture out of a house so it can really cool it properly.

But really, a difference between 68 and 74 isn't that great for 3 floors. Close most of the vents in the basement if you haven't already, and close the ones on the ground floor about halfway, leaving the ones on the top floor open fully. Keep closing the ones on the ground floor a little more each day and see if you can't get a balance where the upper floor stays about right.

Also, use floor fans to distribute the air around better.
