Duo-Therm Air Conditioner Problem

Question:
The fan in my "Dometic Duo-Therm 579 Series Brisk Air" air conditioner in my Rockwood popup suddenly quit. Worked fine for three years (several trips per year), but now won't turn over at all. The Air Conditioning
Compressor seems to work, since I can hear it whirrr when I turn it on, but the fan just won't kick out any air.
Is it probably just the fan motor?

Is this fixable myself, and if so, how?

Answer:
Fan motors are pretty easy to check. 1.Blades free and shaft able to turn.
2. Continuity between all speed leads and white motor lead(one at a time, no juice to a/c and unplugged off run capacitor (discharge run capacitor first)) 3. no continuity between and run lead and motor case.

As the motor is actually the last item in the Dometic flow chart to check, it is actually the least likely of the components to be causing this problem.

I would encourage you to pull the cover and be sure that the fan motor is not running at all.

The most frequent problems with air flow are first obstruction, than electrical, and last mechanical.

If you want and have a fax, I can fax you the flow chart for the compressor run, no fan from the Dometic service technician manual.
