Recommend Brand of Central Air-Conditioner

Question:
I am doing my research for installing central air-conditioning in my home in Ontario, Canada.

I need a small unit, 1.5-2 tons, 18,000. The different brands I am looking at are: York (like my gas furnace), Carrier, Keeprite, Lennox and Bryant.

Do you have a central air conditioner? What brand? How has the performance been? Size of your power bills?

Answer:
i would like to tell you one thing . the brands that you listed sound good to me so thereis one thing left to say .

the brand of air conditioner system is no better than the installer. this is the first thing to look at.

now how effencient it is. well all brands have a seer rating that is put on the side of the unit and this is what you go by when you say how much electric it will burn. all brands have different rating for different units that they make. what to ask is what is the seer rating of the cooling of your unit. it will be between 10 and 16 seer. this is what you go by.
