Question:
I would like to buy a manual to service my Amana Unit. Is there a place I
can get a manual for a furnace with the following information.
Model GUC090X35b
Manufacturer number P1208704F
Serial Number 9708163625
Also does what kind of lubrication should I use in a
Fasco Industrial Incorporated blower motor. these are the numbers on the
tag.
Answer:
This has nothing to do with the money. I am trying to figure out why the
person who came out last year for the winter checkup said there was nothing
to lubricate. Now this spring the motor that is label that says "To be
lubricated by a trained technician" and a hole that looks like it is for
oil. Not a "Do not lubricate label" with no hole for oil. I am an
electronics technician I have an AA in Electronics and have worked as a tech
for 10 years in the Navy and in a Manufacturing plant. I am naturally
curious and this does not add up. Amana sent me the Installation
Instructions and it says the motor does not require lubrication. Now I
understand why the technician that came out said there was nothing to
lubricate because that is what Amana has in their installation instructions.
So why does Fasco Industrial say to lubricate there motor and Amana say not
to?
Most of that stuff is sleeve bearings (ugh) that will not really matter as
to oil or not. It's "designed obsolescence" crap. Since you don't follow
thiswebsite, I don't like sleeve bearings
When the motor fails, replace it with a ball bearing motor. When the blower
fails, replace it with a Dayton ball-bearing blower.
