Question:
How would I go about doing the sesonal service to the air conditioner so it
blows cold air instead of hot? I know it should be serviced at the start of
the warm seasons, but is this something I can do myself?
Answer:
The air conditioning evaporator coil's function is to cool the interior of
the vehicle, when the air conditioner
is turned on. Poor interior cooling or a lack of interior cooling may be
caused by a refrigerant leak from this
component. Ther are no safety concerns for you or any passengers in the
vehicle. The refrigerant used in your vehicle is environmentally friendly
and will not cause any harm.
If you are not experiencing problems with your vehicle's Air Conditioning
system, no action by you is required.
In the event you experience an air conditioning problem, please
contact your dealer for diagnosis.
Repairs involving the replacement of your air conditioning eveporator coil
will be completed at no charge to
you within the 7 year or 70,000 mile warranty limits.
If you previously paid for a repair involving the replacement of the
evaporator coil, you may be eligible for
reimbursement.
