Question:
Now that our Canadian winter is gone (yahoo!) summer is here!! The
problem is that she (4 months) is not as happy as I am!! I need some tips
on how to make her more comfortable for when she is inside and outside!! We
don't have air conditioning but what about a ceiling fan? Or will that
blow the air right on her making her too cold? Will she eventually adjust
to the heat?
Answer:
We lived in Tampa Florida when my dsughter was 4 mos, and whe maily wore
onesies or just her diaper. The ceiling fan was on all the time along with
the ac. The ceiling fan won't make the baby too cold as long as you don't
have it on too hi
From what I gather, when ceiling fans are rotating clockwise, then the hot
air is supposed to rise up more quickly w/ each rotation, leaving the
cooler air below; however, when the fans are counter-clockwise, the blades
push the hot air from above down. If this is correct, then just be sure U
have the blades rotating in the right direction for the weather conditions
that day.
Another wonderful side-benefit to ceiling fans is that babies are often
mesmerized by them. My nephew would sit in his infant seat on the floor not
far from me (at the stove) & gaze endlessly at the blades spinning around.
I could make dinner easily, using both hands even (!) & without so much as a
peep outta him! He was enthralled & I enjoyed cooking & watching him.
