Air Conditioning for Pop-Up Camper

Question:
Does anyone know how much I can expect to pay for an air conditioning unit for a pop-up camper ?

Answer:
The air conditioner will cost around $500-600.
You will need a 'prep kit' that goes on the vent in addition to the air conditioner. Be sure to get the 13K BTU model. They also sell a model that is around 7K BTU. That is not big enough to cool a popup. There is NO insulation value in the canvas sides. A popup needs a heavy duty air conditioner.

If you camp in the northern US, you will not need the AC. I only use mine when I travel down south.
Several years ago we bought our first new pop-up camper and didn't think we would need air. After one summer in hot, hot temps we decided that new summer we would buy air. Didn't matter what it cost. We bought a new Coleman air cond for ours and it cost us around 800.00 installed. It was worth it to me though. BTW, the next year we traded it all in for a 30ft TT, wanted a bathroom!!
