Question:
Anyone got any recommendations on where to go to get portable air
conditioning units / cooling fans?
I was thinking of maybe Argos / B&Q. Amazon does not appear to sell them
(none of them available on their listed items).
I support I could take a trip to places like local supermarkets and Comet
etc.
Where do people recommend the most and what features to look out for?
With portable air conditioning, is power the main thing I should be looking
for?

B&Q are good - problem is they have not got this years range in yet. They
do not stock the full range all year round and typically do not roll out the
deals until the week after the first mini heat wave
B&Q have a good range.
Personally I'd avoid the "Evaporative cooler" (Air COOLER) type things
as I have always found these ineffective.
If you can afford it go for a proper air CONDITIONER that has a duct
that runs to the outside of the house.
Generally, "cooling power" will be measured in kW...the higher the
figure the better it cools
