Portable generator recommendations

Question:
I'm looking into gettting a portable generator for RV use.
It will not be mounted in the motorhome - rather, stored in a utility trailer I will tow.
I won't be using it when underway (although I'd like to!)

Looking for 4000watt output that can run at least 5 hours on a tank of gas.

I've looked (web sites) at Onan, Generac, Honda, Yamaha, and
Kawasaki.....and I'm starting to get dizzy

What are you folks using? What did you pay and how do you like it

Answer:
I am sure others are trying hard to match Honda performance, but if I were buying another portable it would be a Honda - quiet, easy starting, reliable. Expensive - but quality always is. We had one for 10 years - loved it.

i just finished going through the same dilemma. I purchased a Honda EU
3000, extremely quiet, electric start, and runs the air conditioner. BUT, they sell it as portable, and I think it is 'crane'able so I have built it in on shelf that slides out to run it. Note: the dealer told me that only the EU1000 was able to be hooked together. I have no idea if this is correct. The quietness is by far the best feature.

I have two EU2000i which I hook together with a parallel kit. Together they provide 4000W max, or 3200W continuous load and will run my entire
5er. They weigh 46 pounds and are much easier to move than a 126 pound
EU3000i.

At $850 ea plus $250 ish for the parallel kit, they weren't cheap (free shipping - no sales tax!). However, in comparison to my
Craftsman/Generac 4000XL "portable", they are far quieter, easier to start, much smaller/lighter, use much less fuel combined, and too much more to detail here....
